May 8, 2020

Food trucks and food vendors will be allowed during Phase 1 & 2

Due to the Municipality of Anchorage’s COVID-19 restrictions that have been put in place, the Weekend Market in downtown Anchorage will be allowed to only host food trucks or produce/food vendors during Phase 1 & 2.

“While the Weekend Market looks very different for 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions, it is still open and home to support small local businesses,” said Mike Fox owner of Anchorage Markets & Events. “We look forward to Phase 3 and bringing activity back to downtown Anchorage and contributing to Alaska’s economy.”

Opening day for the Weekend Market is this weekend, and the following vendors will be present: Wild Alaska, Em Jays Mobile Food Vending, Lemon Earthquake Shake-Up, Gelatte LLC, Da J3rk Spot, Last Frontier Funnel Cakes, Yukon Concession, Inc., The Smokehouse BBQ, Moon Pop Popcorn, Wilderness Espresso & Ice-Cream, AK Stuff Banana, O’Brady’s Dawg Hut, and Babbling Brook Farm.

The Weekend Market hours will also be modified during Phase 1 & 2. On Saturday the hours will be 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday the hours will be from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The Weekend Market will also have additional safety measures put in place for its vendors and customers. Safety measures that have been put in place are the following: Masks are required, 6 ft. distancing required, encouraging cashless transactions, mobile hand wash stations have been put in place, and restrooms will be closed to encourage order and go. All vendors must take a pre-setup health screening.

“We are confident that the Weekend Market will manage a safe space for both its vendors and customers during Phase 1 & 2,” said Demetric Tuggle, Parking Director for EasyPark.
