Payment Options Change at 6th & 7th Avenue Parking Garages

Customer usage drives decision for credit card only for downtown parking garages

Payment options at downtown Anchorage’s 6th & H and 7th & G parking garages have been changed permanently to accept credit card only.

“Our new parking equipment, installed during 2019, provided additional data about payment usage in both facilities,” said Demetric Tuggle, Parking Director for EasyPark. “The change to credit card only was supported by our customer’s needs and the data derived from our reports.”

The 6th & H and 7th & G parking garages are located near the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, Dena’ina Center, Town Square, ConocoPhillips, and City Hall. Due to the location of these parking garages, they are used heavily for both employee parking and event parking. “Making the switch to credit card usage only will also speed up the process of going in and out of the parking garages during major events,” said Ms. Tuggle.

Both the JCPenney and 5th & B parking garage will continue to accept all forms of payment due to the customer’s need.
