Free Street Meter Parking on November 10, 2023

EasyPark is honored to announce that free street meter parking will occur on Friday, November 10, 2023, just 1 day ahead of the observed annual day of Veterans Day, November 11, 2023. From November 10-11, 2023, all street meter parking will have no time limits.

At tonight’s Anchorage Assembly meeting, the month of November will be recognized as Purple Hearth Month, remembering and honoring wounded in combat with hostile forces. We recognize the sacrifice that our armed forces have given, and especially those that have been wounded in action.

EasyPark has dedicated parking spaces within the 6th & H, 7th & G, and 5th & B parking garages purple level (2nd floor) for recipients of the Purple Heart medal, and preferred parking spaces will be donated to those recipients.

Those who are interested in participating in the Purple Heart Parking program will need to contact our Customer Relations department at 276-7275 or info@easyparkalaska.com.

About EasyPark

ACDA is a self-funded public corporate authority that does not operate using taxpayer dollars for the Municipality of Anchorage. The Purple Heart

“The Purple Heart Medal is awarded to members of the armed forces of the U.S. who are wounded by an instrument of war in the hands of the enemy and posthumously to the next of kin in the name of those who are killed in action or die of wounds received in action. It is specifically a combat decoration.

The organization now known as the Military Order of the Purple Heart,” was formed in 1932 for the protection and mutual interest of all who have received the decoration. Composed exclusively of Purple Heart recipients, it is the only veterans service organization comprised strictly of “combat” veterans.”
