EasyPark Completes Key Infrastructure Upgrades

July 18, 2025

ANCHORAGE, AK — July 18, 2025 — EasyPark is proud to announce the completion of several major reinvestment projects in downtown Anchorage, furthering its mission to provide clean, safe, and customer-focused parking services.

In 2025 alone, EasyPark has invested over $2.7 million in critical parking infrastructure upgrades:

• 7th Avenue Garage Stairwell Replacement – Completed earlier this year, this $967,000 project enhances public safety, accessibility, and aesthetics at one of Anchorage’s busiest parking facilities.

• 5th Avenue Garage Stairwell Door Replacement – A $400,000 upgrade will be completed in 2025 that improves security, climate protection, and overall user accessibility.

• 1,450+ On-Street Meter Upgrades – A $1.4 million investment replaced outdated downtown parking meters with new models featuring improved credit card options and reliability, longer battery life, enhanced screen visibility, and weather-resistant keypads. Coin jam solutions are currently being tested, with full resolution expected by the end of summer.

“These projects represent our continued commitment to reinvesting in the systems and infrastructure that serve our downtown community,” said Jeff Read, EasyPark Parking Director. “We’re listening to our customers and delivering upgrades that improve their experience every day.”

Looking ahead, EasyPark has committed to addressing deferred maintenance and making infrastructure improvements. For 2026, parking deck repairs, resurfacing, and the replacement of stairwells at the 5th and 6th Avenue parking garages are needed to maintain safe and efficient facilities.

To support these infrastructure improvements, EasyPark's Board of Directors voted to implement a modest $0.50 per hour increase for both 2-hour and 10-hour meters, effective August 1, 2025. This is the first rate adjustment since 2016.
