Alaska Federation of Natives 2018 Conference – Parking Alert

October 04, 2018

The 2018 Alaska Federation of Natives (AFN) conference will be held in downtown Anchorage at the Dena’ina Civic & Convention Center on October 18-20, 2018.

This event results in high occupancy at EasyPark parking garages. We expect that on Thursday and Friday, October 18-19, the 6th & H, 7th & G, and JCPenney (6th & E) parking garages will fill to 100% occupancy by 9:00 a.m.

If you work downtown and possess an EasyPark garage access card, here are some suggestions on what can be done to assure you minimize the impact to your routine:

  • Secure parking prior to work before 8:30 a.m. on October 18-19.
  • Once parked in a parking garage, do not exit the garage for lunch or appointments unless absolutely necessary, as available space will fill up quickly throughout the day.
  • Carpool with co-workers, if able.
  • Consider using People Mover or alternate modes of transportation to and from work.

EasyPark staff will be on site at the parking garages attending to the entrances/exits and will assist in re-rerouting traffic to the most convenient parking option when needed. Should the need arise to redirect access card holders to alternate garages; please be advised of the following:

  • To enter the garage a ticket must be pulled at the entry.
  • To exit the garage press the call button, located at the exit machine, and show your access card to the attendant to exit free of charge.
  • If you do not have your access card present at the time of exit, you are responsible for payment prior to exiting.

Please take extra care as we will be experiencing high volumes of motorists and pedestrians moving to, from, and within our parking garages and in downtown Anchorage.

For more information about the downtown parking impact, please call EasyPark at 276-7275 (Park), after hours call 297-4471or visit for information on available parking locations.
