Downtown On Street Curbs Will Be Painted This Summer - May 8, 2012

Downtown Anchorage is going to get a fresh coat of paint on its on street curbs, thanks to the Anchorage Community Development Authority (ACDA) and man power from Municipality of Anchorage's (MOA) Traffic & Engineering department. While regulatory signs are the motorist's primary source of parking rules, curb striping serves as another important visual indicator of parking requirements and restrictions.

"Providing motorists with the information they need to avoid an unsafe parking situation or to avoid a parking citation is what we are all about," said Rick Onstott, EasyPark's Parking Director. "Getting these curbs painted by working closely with MOA Traffic is the right thing to do."

ACDA's Board of Directors has approved a $25,000 expenditure to assist Traffic Engineering, for the painting of the curbs in downtown Anchorage. Traffic Engineering will start the project during the month of May and it is expected to be completed by this summer.

Founded in 1984, the Anchorage Community Development Authority (ACDA) is a public corporate authority for the Municipality of Anchorage. ACDA's parking division, EasyPark, manages more than 6,000 parking spaces in downtown Anchorage. ACDA's parking mission is to provide convenient and safe parking services for the Municipality of Anchorage.
